I do feel quite guilty about this award as I have not written here since before we went to France for ten days in mid March. I have been keeping up with the Granny a Day project though, and in fact have done more than my one a day, but that is because I am still working on the blue baby blanket for cousin Pat's expected grandson in July. Still need about ten or so more squares to do, then I can put them all together and crochet an edge.
Passing a charity shop the other day I noticed a large blackboard outside with the words "WOOL" written on it! I could not pass (well I can't pass charity shops anyway) and there inside was a table loaded with bags and balls of wool. Actually I thought it was all pretty pricey considering it was obviously very old stock, but hey! it was a charity shop! Most of the colours were pretty yucky as well, but I did buy some:-
I love both these colours and can see I will be making warm hats, scarves and/or cowls for Christmas gifts.

Today I went to the allotment - for the first time this year I am ashamed to say. It was not so bad, and I managed to get one quarter of it dug over. I have broad beans and potatoes chitting ready to go in. I am about to start my fourth year at the plot - initially I had one in Guildford shared with my younger son as it was near where he and his family lived. After a couple of years they moved to near Godalming and as it was too large a plot for me to do on my own and quite a drive, but son wanted to have an allotment, we found a site near to where he lives (he does not drive, so this is important). We were lucky to be offered the last available plot. It is small - less than half a plot - and probably about a third. Son is now too busy building an extension to his house, and as there has been a bit of a conflict of how we should plan the plot, I have decided that I will have a go myself and not involve him. I do still have a 10 minutes drive to the site, I don't have a shed there, so have to take all my tools, etc. with me. But I am looking forward to spending at least one day a week there, if I can.
